The Board of Management manages the school on behalf of the patron and is accountable to the patron and the Minister. The Board must uphold the characteristic spirit (ethos) of the school and is accountable to the patron for so doing. The principal is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, including providing guidance and direction to the teachers and other staff of the school and is accountable to the Board for that management.
The Board of Management serves for 4 years and is comprised of :
Chairperson (Bishop’s representative appointed by the Bishop)
Principal
Bishop’s Representative (usually a Priest from the parish)
Staff Representative (elected by the staff of the school)
2 Parent’s Representatives (nominated and elected by the Parent’s of the school. 1 male and 1 female)
2 Community Representatives (nominated by the above members of the Board of Management at the first meeting)
